Welcome to Hillingdon U3A

This Site!

Created to keep U3A members and others interested, informed about our Branch of the University of the Third Age.

Who are we?

We are a branch of a national organisation of retired (or thereabouts) folk, currently about 750 members, who want to pursue an unlimited variety of self taught interests.

We have monthly meetings in the ODEON Cinema in Uxbridge with speakers on amazingly diverse subjects. Around forty groups meet regularly, usually fortnightly, to study a range of subjects which interest them, from Bridge to Spanish, Military History to Singing in our enthusiastic and thriving choir.

Visits and Trips!

These are arranged, one or more a month, to stately homes or exhibitions etc. We travel by coach or we (some of us!) use our travel passes in London. Trips to the theatre for shows are very popular, as well as the occasional concert. We also organize social events for members and our choir reveals its talents with twice-yearly concerts.

Newsletter!

A free newsletter is issued quarterly giving details of all that is going on. We hope you will find much to enjoy and to interest you. Above all, we feel confident that you will make many new friends and add a new, lively and stimulating dimension to your life.

Other Interests!

If you have a special interest not covered in our present programme, do let us know and we will see if others share it. If are you are skilled in some subject or hobby and would like to share your expertise with a group of like-minded members you will be more than welcome to do so. All our Committee Members and Group Leaders are volunteers, so we welcome any additional help you may be able to contribute to our organisation.

So, once again, Welcome to U3A

With best wishes,
Jill Rhodes,
Hillingdon U3A Chairman
